Invention Of Lying Clips: Ricky Gervais Takes It On The Chin

A few days ago Ricky Gervais called something I wrote about his new movie The Invention of Lying “nice”, which is in general even better than just about anyone else calling anything I do “amazing”. Speaking of amazing, we have six new clips from The Invention of Lying, a movie which promises to be even better than Ricky’s previously fantastic movie Ghost Town and hopefully twice as successful.

Before you dig into the clips, make sure you know what’s going on or none of this will make any sense. Here’s the premise: No one in the world, except Ricky Gervais, knows how to lie. To make this premise even funnier, the film seems to be packed with celebrity cameos, celebrities whose only real purpose in the film is to insult our portly protagonist. Nobody takes an insult better than Gervais.

My incessant fawning over The Invention of Lying may in retrospect seem like celebrity ass kissing, but I would say these great things even if Ricky hadn’t called something I wrote “nice”. In fact a smarter person would have done a much better job of using this space to elicit more praise from him, but I’ve just used it to call him “portly”. Not bright.
